Video Resume Thoughts

1. What works? What doesn't work?
One thing that i think works well is to be on campus to record parts of my video. I really like how it connects to Limestone university. I thought that in Dylan's video he starts the video on campus.
One thing that I think doesn't work is how long one of the videos is. I think staying in the 1-2 minute range is perfect because if it longer the audience wont be as interested and most likely not stay and watch the whole video.

2. What style could fit my personal resume goals? Match my personality?
I think that I should definitely include my leadership style into my résumé video showing how I can help lead others because that's one of my qualities that I think I have and can really showcase in the video.

3. What thing do I want to include?
One thing I definitely want to include is pictures from my hometown and really connected with the video and what I learned throughout this course. I also really like all the subtle music in the backgrounds of all the videos.

Website Thoughts/Ideas

The two blogs that caught my eye would be Antony Wiktor and Devin Stank. One thing that stood out to me was the use of space. A lot of the other websites seemed like that they had too much white space. They just looked kinda bland and boring. I really like how these two people used the whole webpage. I also enjoyed how they used the use of "live video" on their websites. It made it look much cooler.

Some things that I want on my website would be

-Use of live videos

-A search bar

-Having my initials in the top left hand corner and possibly have it be a drop down menu

-I kinda like the idea of doing a purple and gold theme if possible, maybe metallic if i can?!

-Photography page

-Maybe video feed if I get into videography

-Maybe add a video of "about me" and film it?

Exploring Brand Guides

Today I took a look at two different brand guides.

Starting off with Nike

The Nike Football Brand Guide places a strong emphasis on using the distinctive swoosh logo consistency and precision. It also highlights the usage of bold, brilliant colors and crisp writing to reflect the brands emphasis on performance, power, and innovation. The material in the guide is easily comprehensible due to its simple structure, strong visual hierarchy, created by a large photographs and powerful headers. Nike has tight guidelines when it comes to using its branded goods. These guidelines guarantee that the logo never changes and that the color scheme and typography are the same in all media.

Moving on to Lululemon.

In contrast, Lululemon's brand identity guide communicates a upscale minimalism that is consistent with the businesses dedication to balance health and well-being. the stlye guide emphasizes lifestyle, driven photography that embodies the brands, luxury positioning, and mindfulness, along with simple typography and a striking subtle color scheme. It emphasizes how crucial it is to keep the authorized color scheme the Lululemon logo in the font selection consistent. Throughout the book, Lululemon's mission of "elevating the world through mindful movement and personal wellbeing" is brought back up, highlighting the brands commitment to mental and physical wellness.
